River Kayaking Rates:

We offer 2 trips, 6 miles and 12 miles.

6 miles on the river is 2 hours when water is being released from the Blue Ridge dam.  It is 3 hours when flowing at normal level.  Cost for the 6 mile trip is: $40 for a single kayak and $70 for a tandem kayak.  You may choose to have a guide with you if you like.  The cost for a guide for this trip is $50 in addition to the per person price of the trip.

We also offer a shuttle service for the 6 mile trip.  If you have your own equipment we will help you launch at our place and haul you and all of your equipment back to our place.  This is a very popular service, at $10 per person if we haul you and your equipment this is a great deal!  If you launch at our place and we do not haul you or your equipment back there is a charge of $5 per craft that is launched.

We also offer all day fishing rentals for the 6 mile trip.  Stay out all day and fish for $60 for a single kayak and $110 for a tandem kayak.

The 12 mile trip is offered only when the dam is released and only for people who have experience kayaking.  This is an all day trip (4-6 hours), this trip must be reserved and will have to start no later than 10 a.m.  Cost for this trip is $80 for a single kayak and $140 for a tandem kayak.  A guided trip for the 12 mile is $75 for the guide and regular per person charge.  The shuttle service if you have your own equipment for the 12 mile trip is $20 per person.  Launch fee is still $5 per craft if we are not shuttling you and your equipment back.

We are offering kayak lessons at $20 per person.  It is a fun lesson with a short trip on the river to learn the basics.

Life jackets must be worn at all times when the dam is being released.
